Frequently Asked Questions

8pod IBC uses Apple™ computers. Can I use Microsoft Windows®?

Yes, the Apple Operating System (OS) is designed to run Window XP as well as Mac OS X and it's very easy to switch between the two. This means that all types of documents and applications are supported in either system. If delegates are unsure of which programs to use, our onsite personnel will be very happy to assist.

What is the event home page?

This is a web page designed specifically for your event, that is loaded as the home page on each 8pod IBC computer. It contains information directly relevant to the needs of the delegates, including links to your event web site; speaker or paper excepts; a comprehensive conference programme, plus information about the conference destination - such as tourism sites, public transport and airline timetables, accommodation options, webmail access - the options are unlimited!

Consulting with our web designers, the site will be ready to access securely by the organising team for review prior to the event.

What help services are available for delegates?

An on-site 8pod crew person(s) will be available to assist delegates with all aspects of 8pod. A 24 hour, 7 days a week Help Desk is available for the 8pod crewmember to contact in the unlikely event that any problems are beyond their control.

‘Cheat Sheets' and simple to understand instructions of the most important functions of the computer systems are supplied so delegates can quickly access the programs or features they require. An 8pod IBC crewmember can answer any questions and assist where necessary.

What information can I give delegates prior to the event?

Information sheets in delegate packs and exhibitor manuals will alert attendees of when and where the 8pod IBC and Wi-Fi Hot spot is available for use during your conference or event. These information sheets will be provided for you by 8pod prior to the conference.

By making all delegates aware of the advantages of the 8pod IBC site prior to their arrival, they will be able to plan with their home office accordingly and maximise their time at the conference.
